What is the Proud Friend Campaign?

As Christians, we take seriously the biblical command to bless the nation of Israel and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Jewish brothers and sisters even if it’s unpopular on our campuses. Right now, our Jewish study partners, classmates, roommates, and teammates can certainly use faithful friends and we are rising to the occasion.

The reality that Jewish people are subject to harassment and hate speech based on their religious identity in 2024 is appalling. No student anywhere should have to experience disgusting antisemitic intimidation. Campus and community leaders have an obligation to respond to anti-Jewish threats and attacks in the same manner they would when any other group is persecuted on campus.

You don’t have to be Jewish to stand strong against antisemitism and the Jewish community should not have to fight alone. All of us must play a role in eradicating antisemitism and ensuring that “Never Again” is now.

Through this campaign, we are sharing information via social media about Israel to educate those who wish to learn, spread truth, and inspire friends to join us in being proud friends of the Jewish community. We have also written letters declaring that as Christians we stand in solidarity with our Jewish peers against the rampant antisemitism that has spread like a cancer across the academic landscape.
